Egypt is a North Eastern African nation that boasts of stable political climate and economic prosperity. The country ranks as one of the most progressive nations in Africa. It is largely Muslim and enjoys peace and tranquility. This country was a British colony. It gained its independence from the British in 1922. The country practices agriculture and enjoys a great agricultural productivity. The country practices irrigation hence increasing its agricultural productivity. Rice is largely produced in Egypt. In fact, Egypt ranks as one of the key rice producers in Africa.

Geographically, Egypt benefits from the Nile river that originates from the East Africa. The Nile provides vast lands along it with water for irrigation.

Egypt also boasts of large water reserves like the Nasser dam used for irrigation and other economic activities. The culture of Egypt is largely Muslim. Politically, Egypt is deemed politically stable. It is one of the countries in Africa that have always been maintaining and will maintained disciplined politics. The country has had various leaders. The current president, Hosni Mubarak is on his last term after taking the leadership of the country since the early80’s.

There are opposition parties in Egypt; however, the politics of the day are not extremists. They believe in harmony and discipline. This has allowed Egyptians to enjoy peace and prosperity. The country is also regarded as a key partner in Mid East peace process. The country has a peace agreement with the nation of Israel which it borders on the Suez Canal.
