I want the best book on the history of Illinois politics, as I may be employed there in a capacity that deals with the state government often. This can include a book that combines state and Chicago politics into one, as that’s where I’d be located.

How much time throughout your day does politics eat up your brain?

I’ve pretty much given up on it. Neither side really cares to listen and understand each other. Liberals are from Mars, Conservatives are from Venus. I have a few close friends (although about to be demoted to aquaintances) who call me just to b*tch about Obama and other politics. I’m so sick and tired of it. Do you people let politics control your personal lives or do you actually care to feed the fish every once in awhile?

What are the positive and negative effects of increased participation in politics?

What happened to asking real an not opinionated questions on YA politics?

Nobody on here asks an actual, thoughtful, question about politics anymore. One that involves answerers to use their intellectual perspectives and evaluate an outcome and critically analyze the question’s context.

You’re right, this isn’t one of those questions, but perhaps this will inspire us to political scientists on here and not opinionated pundits who are loaded with biases and fallacies but lack logic, reason, and evidence.

How do you retain a sane conscious when it comes to politics?
