Politics

I’m 14 and I’m looking at a life in politics. Perhaps a senator or even higher. I hope to graduate highschool with a 4.0. And attend harvard university. Does anyone have any advice on what classes to take or things I should be concentrating on now?

I’ll be honest I used to find politics boring until recently. I am 19 years old and would really like to know more about what is going on with our government. The problem is the news doesn’t seem to cover what goes on that much and the amount of information that is out there is kind of over-whelming. I am having trouble trying to figure out what is relevent and what isn’t. So if anyone can please point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

I feel like an engineer would be a much better politician. First what do you think of that, and second what should an engineering major do after college or graduate school to go into politics?

Certainly, the Republicans building anger with stupid, simplistic, and exaggerated arguments works to their advantage if it gets enough people who wouldn’t have voted to vote for them or if it gets someone who wouldn’t have voted for them to vote for them. Of course, if the arguments are not accurate, that has the possibility of backfiring.

those around them?

Are they wise for completely putting off politics, and doing the best they can with their own abilities?

Are they wise for trying to effect change at a personal level instead of trying to effect change through the political system?

What would be a good research question for a Comparative Politics class? I need a research question that would be easy to write a paper on for my Comparative Politics class, something for which I can find lots of data on to easily compare and contrast between two countries (or more) different political systems + interactions.

I hear a whole bunch of hogwash when people call each other names in the political arena. I’ve heard the names of “commies, liberals, repug, nazi” and many more.

I thought adults were more civilized and mature rather than using child like tactics to make a person look odd or bad. What good will name calling do in politics?
