I am a liberal democrat and my boyfriend is a conservative Republican. We haven’t killed each other (yet). I happen to think that open, friendly debate between differing political parties can be a healthy, productive thing. Unfortunately most people I talk politics with get really testy if I don’t immediately agree with their views. Maybe the old saying about the impossibility of changing a person’s view on religion or politics is true. What do you think? Thanks for your time and input.

You pretty much can talk to a person about anything, but when it comes to religion and politics…watch out! It’s never takes long for the conversation to get heated. Seriously though, what is it about these two topics that evoke more passion and anger from people than most others?

Weather is a stupid topic that doesn’t go anywhere.

I don’t follow sports and think they are stupid.

Politics is too argumentative and polarized to talk to people about. I will just make enemies of everyone.
