What do you think of people that choose to ignore politics and only focus on their lives and the lives of?

Are they wise for completely putting off politics, and doing the best they can with their own abilities?
Are they wise for trying to effect change at a personal level instead of trying to effect change through the political system?
What is your opinion of those that find politics to be of no interest what so ever and prefer to focus entirely on the social aspects of their lives?
